About the Meeting
A message from meeting organizers, Drs. Charlie Barr, Don D'Amico, Szilard Kiss, Mike Lambert, and Craig Sklar
Since our first meeting in July of 1986, Nantucket Retina has offered attendees an informal forum for active, open, and innovative discussions between younger members of the retina community and senior retina specialists, joined by a select group of talented representatives from companies with vitreoretinal expertise. Vitreoretinal colleagues are welcome to join the meeting as well.
In our continuing efforts to ensure the most engaging and lively exchange of ideas, the format of the meeting will provide for physician and fellow participants to present a 15-minute paper on an interesting aspect of retinal diseases. (Corporate participants are also encouraged to speak during the meeting: each company is allotted a 10-minute window to present on a topic of its choosing.) The focus may be original scientific work, a case report, experience with a new surgical technique or instrument, or even a straightforward thematic question of interest. We will select most but not all of the submitted abstracts, and then structure the program to provide plenty of time for lively discussion around each topic. Please feel free to contact us (NantucketRetina@gmail.com) if you would like to have our thoughts about a topic you might present. In order to keep this meeting small and informal, participation is limited to 45 registrants.
Please note that Nantucket Retina 2020 has been cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. We look forward to reconvening on beautiful Nantucket in Summer 2021 for the 35th annual meeting of Nantucket Retina. Dates to be announced soon. Stay tuned!
